St Peter’s has a 28 acre site with a heated outdoor swimming pool, sports hall, squash court, numerous rugby, football and cricket pitches, astroturf and tennis courts.

The school has been recognised as a centre of excellence and has therefore been awarded Academy status for its squash.

St Peter’s is known for its sporting strength and we pride ourselves in excellent achievement as well as an excellent range of experiences. Children at St Peter’s often also play at County level and both boys and girls have great success both at local and national fixtures. In 2017-18 we could boast a plethora of County, Regional and National representatives spanning the entire spectrum of sport. Rugby, football, hockey, netball, cricket, tennis, sailing, squash and athletics were all represented at these levels by St Peter’s students. We had National champions in sailing and athletics last year, as well as a World Champion in U12 Freestyle slow category dance.

In the Michaelmas term, children play rugby and hockey and in the Lent term netball and football, in the Trinity term, cricket, rounders, athletics, swimming and tennis. Squash is played all year and we are proud of our academy status.

Regular fixtures are played against local teams and those as far away as Wiltshire.

The activities programme extends the sporting opportunities.

Houses
All pupils and staff who work at St Peter’s are arranged in houses. There is a huge network of cross-curricular house events throughout the year from Scrabble and table tennis to tug of war.

Vertical mentoring is new this year and children enjoy buddy reading and developing games for the younger ones.
